Q44:Is there a difference between shielded and screened cable?

A44:Yes. Shielded cable (denoted by STP) is most often known as 'IBM Type 1' cable. It is defined in TIA-568-A as two individually twisted pairs separated by a shield with a nominal impedance of 150 ohms. Screened cable (called ScTP) can be considered a close relative of UTP. It consists of 4 pairs of 22 or 24 AWG wire enclosed by an outer foil.
