Features
1) Each of the 4/16 MBPS type 3 filter media physically consists of a
D-SUB 9 male connector which would connect directly to the network interface
card, and a 2.5m length of UTP(2 pairs) terminated by an RJ11/RJ45 plug.
Also known as Token Ring Filter Media.
2) Limits electrical noise emissions and matches impedance ( 150 ohm to
100 ohm ) in an IBM token ring filter media lan environment where unshielded
twisted pair cabling is used instead of more expensive shielded Type 1
cabling.

Applications:
Filter Media can be used to
implement both 4 and 16 MBPS token ring filter media on unshielded twisted
pair cable (UTP). It serves as an adapter for connecting a DB-9 device
cable to an RJ 45 cabling system. The line filter media reduces the noise
picked up on UTP cable and preventns computer noise radiation from disturbing
other electronic equipment.
