Applications:
Twinaxial balun is used to connect IBM 5362, 5219 workstations and all other terminal supported by 34/36/38 and AS 400 devices using unshielded twisted pair cabling, in either a daisy chain or star type topology.. They are used to replace twinaxial cable with low cost twisted pair to build up a lan. This balun provides an impedance match from balanced 100 ohm UTP cable to 100 ohm unbalanced twinaxial cable.
It allows matching an IBM AS/400 device with twinaxial connections to
an RJ45 cabling system.
